Basstardo Recs is born in Barcelona as a result of the musical worries of its manager, Toni Bass , a very much internationally consolidated dj and producer. It is a record company in wich both young talents and renamed artists and producers meet for creativity and imagination. It is now a platform for their riskier productions. Basstardo recs has adcquired a very own sound and musical style, recognized by critics and clubbing scene all over the world. It reaches both commercial and underground scenes, because of the mainstream flavour always inmersed in the latest tendencies of its releases.

His musical carreer begins by the mid 90’s together with gabi newman and toni mora, founding “mf station”, producing company that hit the spanish top sales lists for a couple of years. After this, in 1997, he met toni bass and after editing several 12”, and create their project called “The Thief”, they made a whole album that have been edited in part since then in 12” vynils. By 1998 he joins vendetta records studios as a resident producer and takes in charge the creation of several projects and remixes, both commercial shape, that are to be granted later on as a technics award for the best national producer given by the prestigious publication Dj Magazine. Meanwhile he specialisesd in the production and composition of a large list of chill out tracks. Has worked with a lot of djs such as java, cesar lorés, david gausa o sideral, among others.

Producer, arranger, dj and musician from Madrid-Spain. He has his own record company “Zen Records”, and release diferent proyects with different names from 1993.

Influenced from its childhood by funky, soul, jazz and by electronic music in his adolescence, he knew that his future would be in music.

Very versatil, he try to fuse his different influences with new tecnologies combining old harmonies with new sounds evolving day to day.

One of his biggest hits was “The Night train” from Kadoc, who was selling all over the world more than two million copies (singles and compilations), and was number 12 in the UK charts and number 1 in Holland more than 1 month. In those days he played in Denmark, Germany, France, UK, Holland, Miami & Rusia.

In 1994 he met Dj Chus who has been working with him since then in several proyects, remixes and gigs.

Producer under names as Deux, Montilla, Nuboy or Doblado, David Penn has worked also with Dj Chus, Ceballos, Toni Bass, Halo, Dj Jabato, Sebastián Gamboa and Olav Basoski.

He made remixes for Jay-J, Junior Jack, Chus & Ceballos, Vibe Residents, Milk & Sugar, Dave Storm, Wackside, Lenny Fontana, Ron Hall, Cam or The Thief among others.

He had released records all over the world in labels as Defected, Black Vinyl, Azuli, Bluem, Maya or Rise.

In 2003 starts a new division of Zen Records called Urbana Recordings with a big dj recognition, releasing new fresh music from his Mediterranean country. His records are played by djs as Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Bob Sinclar, Dj Chus,…

As a dj he played in the Winter Music Conference in Miami, in Rusia in front of 5000 people, in Japan, Mexico, Poland, Estonia, Bulgary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Germany,…

In his sets, always combines one defined line house with different slopes that go from underground to house more energetic and musical and irresistibly is seduced by classic tracks.

AN DER BEAT starts making music in 94 influenced like a lot young people on this time by Hip-Hop,techno and House music. He Djed aroun the world like Bogota , Paris, Hamburg, Koln, Bruxels, Amsterdam, Canada, Munchen, Cannes, etc etc in festivals like Roskilde, Sonar, Benicassim, Bam, etc but where he feels much better playing is in da club! Where da distance is short and te temperature is hot! Where the people is groovie and the bass is nasty!!!!
